From the October report:
“There are three centres for the orphans and vulnerable children feeding programme with a total number of 180 children benefitting.
- K2 has 60 orphans and vulnerable children.
- K3 has 35 orphans and vulnerable children.
- Phola [Magdalene’s house] has 85 orphans and vulnerable children.
“We have children between the ages of five and eighteen. In the centres care workers assist children with their school homework. They are being taught about hygiene, health, doing their home chores, the importance of education and a balanced diet. Care givers support the children spiritually, psychologically and emotionally. The children at the centres do not have money to buy vegetables so they are encouraged to grow their own vegetables at home. At the centres the children also do fun and relaxing activities which help them after a long day at school.”
