We supported the following programmes:
- House building: one house for a child-headed household.
- Peer education: refreshments; payments to 4 peer facilitators; graduation ceremony.
- Worker payments: supporting food parcels, kitchen staff, housebuilding and administration.
- Food parcels: both regular and one-off supplies.
- After school feeding, at three locations.
- Office costs: towards electricity, insurance and bank charges.
- Transport for food parcels, housebuilding and peer education.
- Workshop/support group: one-off training workshop for orphans and vulnerable children.
- In addition, we made a contribution towards security fencing repairs, and paid for a replacement laptop for an office worker.
We received a total of 14 narrative reports over the year covering the various programmes; and monthly financial reports.

Summary of the other achievements
- The £5,000 grant received in March enabled us to fund a total of 20 food parcels for orphaned and vulnerable child households, and to fully fund the three after school feeding programmes supporting about 185 children.
- Made a presentation St. John’s, Tupton [including the AGM], followed by a lunch.
- Father and daughter, Martin and Fiona, two of our management team, made an independent visit to the Project with their families in November. They were able to meet all four families who have benefitted from new homes, and to see the peer education programme in action.
- We have sent a monthly email prayer letter to our supporters, plus other news; and posted regular updates on our website, Facebook page and Twitter.
- We received over £16,500 in donations and grants.
- St Thomas Brampton Thursday Morning Ladies Group fund-raised for a £360 long-drop toilet and actually raised over £1,600! – used to help fit and furnish the house, and maintain our full food commitments.
- We funded the relief of hunger; the delivery of peer education; new housing; transport and admin. costs (at the Masoyi Project).
- We introduced a new strapline: “Giving a hand in changing lives”.
Management team meetings
The management team met three times. Audit tracking of donations to the Project was improved. The team receive quarterly account summaries from the treasurer. We agreed to fund a further house for an orphan family this year. We continue to explore opportunities to apply for grants. Annual accounts continue to be reviewed by an accountant without fee. [This is not a legal requirement.]

Below is a summary of how the Masoyi Trust UK donations were spent during the year 2018 (not 2018-19). Whilst these figures provide a condensed financial view of the impact, the personal stories of how our supporters’ donations are making a difference to the daily lives of people in the community are what really inspires us.
