“So far we have purchased three sets of uniforms for children in the community who are not going to school because they either do not have a uniform or the one they have is in terrible shape.
We were also able to help a pregnant girl, Si., get a copy of her ID [Identity Document] and one for her 5-year old son. She had fled from her husband, who wanted her to have an abortion. She refused and moved in with a friend in a different community. Jabulile [Operations Director] knows how difficult it is to get IDs and told us “You saved someone”. Si. will now be able to get a child grant. It’s not much but it’s something to help provide food and medical care in the community.”
